AP Calculus  (Grade 10 & up)

Calculus is the branch of mathematics that focuses on the study of change.  It has a multitude of applications throughout mathematics, physical sciences, engineering, social and biological science.

Purpose
This course is designed to prepare students for AP Calculus exams. Students will develop their knowledge of calculus graphically, algebraically, numerically and verbally, understand derivative, integral and the relationship between them. Students learn to communicate math both orally and in writing and assess the reasonableness of their solutions.

Content
The course will cover limits, continuity, derivatives, series, and integration of real-valued functions, analysis of graphs, convergence and applications of integrals and derivatives.
 

Expectation
AP Calculus is a year-long class in high school, and we have very little time. Thus class attendance is mandatory. You should give yourself enough time to complete homework assignments. If you are having trouble, you should contact teacher immediately.

Grading
The grade will be weighted 25% homework, 25% take-home past-exam, and 50% the final exam. The grading scale is 90-100% A, 80-89% B, 70-79% C, 60-69% D, and below 60% F.
